When my daughter and son-in-law got married, I had the honor of making a speech and toasting them. Now, on their fourth wedding anniversary, I thought I’d share my words here as a reminder of what a fantastic day it was and what a fantastic couple they are.

Hello, I’m Richard Medugno. Miranda’s stupid-hearing father and now Fletch’s stupid-hearing father-in-law.

Thank you for coming to this wedding in Iowa, the middle of America — the most exciting place in the world, right?

My speech will have four parts. First, a story about my daughter. Second, a story about Fletch. Third, I will offer some suggestions for having a happy life together. And last I will lead a toast to their marriage.

Miranda

I have many memories I could share about Miranda. My beautiful baby girl. Of course, I have many stories I could tell about my Miranda. It took me a long time to decide on one. When she was a junior in high school
