JOLANDA sits in a chair with her hands folded across her pregnant stomach. She’s big. She’s expecting twins. Her friends JULIE and VANESSA hover around, setting up the room for a baby shower.

JULIE
Okay, let’s put that there…

VANESSA
(adjusting the furniture)
How’s that?

JOHN enters carrying party food and setting bowls on the coffee table.

JOHN
How ya doin’, babe?

JOLANDA
Just fine.

VANESSA
So when are you leaving, John?

JOHN
Whattaya talkin’ about?

VANESSA
You’re not staying for the baby shower, are you?

JOHN
Yeah. Why wouldn’t I?

VANESSA
Well, usually, men don’t like this kind of thing.

JOHN
Listen, Vanessa, anything that involves my girls, I’m gonna be involved in.
