Gun Violence Pays Another Visit to My Neighborhood
Less than 48 hours ago an innocent young man was killed by a-hole with a ghost gun and on the street there’s barely any recognition of the life lost and the four injured
Thursday night at 10:30 pm a couple of blocks from where I live in downtown San Diego, an idiot with a ghost gun randomly shot and killed 28-year-old Justice Boldin, who was working as a parking valet in front of a luxury hotel. Then the criminal ran up the street and shot four more men before being taken down by bystanders.
Note, no “good guy with a gun” was needed to stop the “bad guy with a gun.” What could have been helpful beforehand: common-sense gun control laws.
I did not hear the gunshots but read about the incident the following morning in my news feed. Less than 12 hours after the killing, I was standing near the spot where it happened and there wasn’t any indication that a tragedy had occurred there or up the street where the rampage ended. It was disconcerting, to say the least.
As if nothing had happened here the night before
No blood. No caution tape. No blocked-off area. No makeshift memorial. No flowers. People nearby were carrying…
