A painting of my father from the 1950s when he was playing football for the Northeastern University Huskies.

Good morning! I’m Richard, Fred Medugno’s number 2 son. Thank you all for being here today.

I’m speaking on behalf of myself and my 5 siblings: Fredrick Joseph, Marisa Ann, Michele Ann, and Tina Marie, and Kevin Michael in heaven.

So exactly 10 months ago, I eulogized my mother Terry, my father’s first wife. It was a challenging and emotional experience, but it was also an incredible honor. I feel the same today. But as a professional writer, I want you to know eulogies are the hardest assignments. And the only thing harder than writing them is delivering them! Okay, here we go.

Goals

My goals for this eulogy are:

1) To celebrate my Dad with you all.

2) To publicly thank the Creator for letting him be such a big part of our lives, and to express deep gratitude for letting him stay with us for so long…almost 90 years!

3) And to share some fond memories and tell you some things you might not know about him — like how he almost killed me with a bamboo pole.

4) And I want you to remember my Dad for the way he was before these last few months and feel better when you leave here than when you arrived. He would want it that way.
