Citizens with Disabilities — Ontario (CWDO), a Canadian non-profit committed to the rights of all persons to participate fully in the civil, cultural, economic, political, and social life of their communities, is hosting a webinar about Gary Malkowski’s life on October 9, 2020, at 3 pm (EST).

As Malkowski’s biographer (Deaf Politician — The Gary Malkowski Story), I’m honored to participate in this webinar with the former Ontario Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).

My recently published book follows Gary from being born deaf into an immigrant, working-class family in Hamilton, Ontario through his education at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC to his community activism and political career in Toronto.

In addition to discussing Gary’s life and “how a Deaf guy got elected,” we’ll talk about why it took 25 years to publish the book and what Gary’s been doing since he left office.

Learning about Gary’s accomplishments will inspire not only the Deaf community, disability rights advocates, Ontario political junkies, and Canadians, but also everyone who is an underdog — or roots for one. Please attend this webinar and learn the secrets to his success.
